Joar & Frida

The good thing about this being a photoblog is that I don't have to write anything.
Because I really, really, have nothing to say.

Oh, except that I'm doing a small photoshoot with a local band this weekend! Will upload pictures later.

I should've been Peter Pan

Don't know what it is about this song. When I hear it I feel like crying right away. Maybe it reminds me of a naive and innocent childhood that seems more distant for each passing day.

I think so.

Happy easter or whatever

The book of love has music in it

Just finished reading this phenomenal book I stumbled across in Shanghai. It's called The History Of Love and it's written by Nicole Krauss. It's a story mainly about an old man living in New York, who lost the love of his life when he was 20 years old and had to escape from Poland when the nazis invaded. The story in itself is a bit slow, not directly filled with action and stuff going on all the time, but the way it's written... wow. The life of the old man is so tragic and dull, but she makes it sound so poetic beautiful and humoristic at the same time. She fuses together words and sentences in such a way it just seems like the words themselves were created with the purpose that some day they would be written together.

"After the day when I saw the elephant, I let myself see more and believe more. It was a game I played with myself. When I told Alma the things I saw she would laugh and tell me she loved my imagination. For her I changed pebbles into diamonds, shoes into mirrors, I changed glass into water, I gave her wings and pulled birds from her ears and in her pockets she found feathers, I asked a pear to become a pineapple, a pineapple to become a lightbulb, a lightbulb to become the moon and the moon to become a coin I flipped for her love, both sides were heads: I knew I couldn't lose."

In some way, this book showed me that loving someone from afar, without that person knowing it, is among the most beautiful thing someone could ever do.

Suzhou bus station

During the Chinese New Year the traffic situation is frantic, at least. Everyone is going to visit family and relatives, so busses, trains and planes gets filled up very quickly, and tickets sells out weeks before the holiday. This picture is from one of Suzhou's two bus stations, taken at one of the about 20 exists at that station. It's crazy how much people there actually are in this world.

Ersmark

These pictures are taken at my grandparents' house in Ersmark. Back in the days, my grandpa used to take lots of pictures, and ever since I was a kid I've loved looking at his old cameras. He's also the typical handy-man; always building something - model airplanes, model boats, knives, and it's not unusual for him to hurt himself while building these things, cuts his fingers and stuff like that all the time. But the things he craft is truly amazing; knives with handles made of reindeer's antler, big boats, and right now he's working on a nyckelharpa. He and grandma also loves to read, and they have lots of books - both fact and fiction. Books about the countries of world, politics, famous old painters, encyclopedias etc. And every time we're there the stereo is on. Just ever so softly in the background, only so you just can hear what's on. And it's either some really peaceful music from one of their trillion CDs or some talkshow on the radio.
So in these small images you see most of the things I associate with the two of them.

The weather yesterday was truly amazing, so me and Anton went for a walk with his dog, Molly.
